Blunt riffs and killer choruses, On the Way Home is a blistering continuation of the path Tritonic are forging for themselves; one foot planted in hardcore forms and conventions and one foot determinedly outside of it. With lyrics about the morning star, wasting time at university, the state of the Labour party, window boxes, social media and being unable to understand propositional logic, the lyrics are obtusely personal and instantly relatable.

lyrics

There's too much noise
And too much violence
Because all these shouts
They wont be timeless
I've been circling the mercury in silence
Because once shared
This can't be private

Hesperus glows
In the twilight
Almost seven years past
That's my life's highlight
Tilted ceilings
and a skylight
Because once shared
This can't be private

Press eject, I want you to leave
Press eject, I warned you to leave
On the way home
You just find another excuse

There's no thought
For it's own sake
I'm left distraught
And I'm kept awake
Because I've been struggling and fumbling with paths to take
A blue book of logic rests on my shelf
And each page, each page becomes more fucking unintelligible

Phosphorus glows
Now with hindsight
Because seven years passed
improves the eyesight
Same old failings, in my eye line
Because I'm trapped in the echo chamber of the left
Just far too long

Press eject, I want you to leave
Press eject, I warned you to leave
On the way home
You just find another excuse
