Algae Bloom 01:09
It's an algae bloom A burst from the deep It's an algae bloom I let it wash over me It's an algae bloom A burst from the deep It's an algae bloom I let it seep into me
2.
I am the ouroboros In the concrete I wind around the city On my front teeth I come to claim the ruins As a conceit Holding back the tears It's the wrong dream I am the Mithras Of old cladding I come to slay bulls That's understanding I come to claim the ruins As a conceit Holding back the tears It's the wrong dream I am the clay idol Trapped in old bricks Holding back the tears It's the wrong dream Turn my roof to a field I don't know how I should feel Crushing slate with my bare hands It's not all the same plan Don't know what I want in my life How could I even decide? And I float down the river To simply deliver myself to the reeds And I float down the river With you
3.
You're not welcome at my table The joke's not funny So I throw your bike in the lake Don't you know I'm in midnight coils You're not welcome at my table The one's with the guns are worse Than the ones with the masks And if you give them an inch They'll tear each of our school apart Fuck every one that doesn't weep For the boy in the boat Kick out these cunts Before they laugh with the boot on your throat Calmly moving through the breeze We're dead by thirty unless we leave here So buy a ticket and calm the seas We're dead by thirty unless we leave here
4.
Deep River 01:16
Deep river My home is over Jordan Deep river Lord And I want to cross over into camp ground And don't you want to go To the gospel feast That promised land Where all is peace Deep river My home is over Jordan Deep river Lord And I want to cross over into camp ground
5.
Go and see something you shouldn’t Like I didn’t, like I wouldn’t In an old members club, there’s lion dead on the wall A simple summer to burn We’re going to die on these roads It’s not a place to be poor But I’ll talk for the whole of the new year To my housemate Ben To me it’s not over, but I didn’t know when If you’re gonna be there Then I want to know There's a storm coming down We're left in heavy rain Walking where our hearts abound As we celebrate all of the small things As our perspiration stings We're in the late stage now I don't know how long it'll last We're just ghosts walking around Caught in a loop Until we find life anew If I’m going to be there Then I want you to know
6.
Join A Union 01:21
It’s been over ten years And I see every day Every facet of life Is sold off and claimed I used to think there was nothing I could do But here’s a stepping stone A simple start for you So join a union I don’t case which one Give me teaching Give me housing Give me health So join a union I don’t care which one Pay your dues You’ve got nothing to loose But your chains

about

Algae Bloom is the new EP from Tritonic. In under twelve minutes, Tritonic continue to prize apart the boundaries of punk and hardcore. A twisted jukebox of crunching hardcore, big beat, gospel, math, pop and polemic.

The lyrics aim to challenge the fatalism of growing older in late-stage Capitalism by being unashamedly pro-refuge and virulently anti-Tory. On top of this, Tritonic still manage to weave together break-up songs and declarations of love whilst embodying ancient Roman gods stalking the modern city.

Algae Bloom aims to be a burst of mystery from the deep, and explosion of joyful noise. Let it wash over you and seep inside.

Also remember to join a union.
